NO.1 Brief Introduction of JCU
Jingdezhen Ceramic University is the only multi-disciplinary institution of higher learning in China that is named after ceramics. It is one of the first 31 universities that have independent undergraduate programs in art and one of the 94 colleges and universities that are qualified to grant Chinese government scholarship to oversea students in China. It is one of the universities designated to cultivate outstanding engineers by Ministry of Education of China, a Model University of Reforming Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education of the Ministry of Education, one of the first participating universities of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritors Training Program by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a National Model University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and one of the first pilot Universities of Transformation and Development. Nowadays, it has become an important national and even global base for training ceramic talents, innovating ceramic technology and exchanging ceramic culture and art.
JCU is located in one the first national historical and cultural cities-- Jingdezhen City. It has Xianghu Campus, Xinchang and China Light Industry Ceramics Research Institute Campus, and Ancient Ceramics Research Center, with an area of 325 acres and nearly 709,000 square meters of buildings. It has 16 schools and departments, namely, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Ceramics and Fine Arts, School of Design and Art, School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, School of Management and Economics, School of Information Engineering, School of International Studies, School of Arts and Archeology, School of Science and Art, School of Marxism, Law Department, Department of Physical and Military Education, Graduate School, School of Entrepreneurship, School of Adult Education and International School, with more than 20,000 full-time students, among whom nearly 2,000 are master’s and doctoral candidates.

NO.3 Eligibility
01 Basic Requirements
Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, without medical history of infectious disease and mental disorders; Applicants must have complete educational and working experiences, without criminal records; Applicants genuinely intend to study Chinese history and cultures, respect Chinese customs, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government as well as the rules and regulations of the University.
02 Indentity Verification
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
Applicants who were Chinese citizens and then emigrated to other countries and acquired nationality should hold the non-Chinese passport for 4 years and above, and have records of actual residence at least for 2 years (9 months actual residence can be calculated as one year, subject to the exit/ entry records) outside of China in the last 4 years (by April 30 of the enrollment year).
No.4 Application Method and Documents
Log in the online application system at http://jcu.at0086.cn/student, and upload all the HD scanned version of the documents required. Images captured by mobile phone or camera and copies are not acceptable. ( all should be translated into Chinese or English）
1) International Students Basic Information Form
2) Passport size photo in electronic version
3) Research Proposal（Applicants for master's are required to provide a research plan for at least 1000 words. Doctoral candidates should provide a doctoral research proposal of at least 2000 words in the major they apply for. The proposal should be written in Chinese or English）
4) Recommendation letters (Applicants for master's and Doctoral candidates shall submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors in related fileds)
5) Copies of highest certificate of academic qualification and transcript with translations into Chinese or English
6) Copies of the passport
7) Physical examination report
8) Certificate of Non-criminal Record
9) Chinese Proficiency Certificate or English Proficiency Certificate
10) Work Album（To apply for majors related to art or design, applicants could submit an art work album which has at least 8 works photos）
